Virginia Etta (Houston) Morehouse, 76, passed away peacefully at Pilot Butte Rehabilitation in Bend on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014.
Virginia was born to Raymond and Virgie Houston of Paisley on March 20, 1938.
She grew up in Paisley and graduated from Paisley High School in 1956. She and her high school sweetheart Richard married a year later on Sept. 17, 1957. She and Richard celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary just three days before she passed.
Anyone that knew Virginia knew she lived to sew. While Richard worked outside on the farm, you could find her holed up in her “sewing room”(which consisted of half her house) working on a new project. Virginia made sure to pass on her love of sewing to her kids and grandkids.
Virginia loved to travel and spend time with her family. Everyone always gathered at her house to celebrate holidays, and nothing made her happier. As long as someone brought Tom and Jerry’s.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Morehouse; sisters, Louwanna (Houston) Combs and Juanita (Houston) Nelson.
She is survived by her husband Richard; son, Russell Morehouse; daughter, Deborah Morehouse; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Ken Hamlington; grandchildren, Clint Miles, Cody and Rachel Aplin, Jolie and Brady Murphy, Amanda Hofer, Waylon Hofer and Jessica and Eric Spaeth; numerous great-grandchildren plus nieces and nephews
Services will be held at the Fort Rock Grange in Fort Rock on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. Donation’s in Virginia’s honor may be made to the Fort Rock Cemetery and mailed to Bob Tuttle- president of Fort Rock Cemetery District PO Box 150 Fort Rock 97735.
