Marvin Howard Braxton, 80, died at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014

Marvin was born to William and Elzina (Nelson) Braxton in Condon on May 21, 1934.

Marvin grew up in Prineville, where he graduated from High School.  He was employed as a dump truck driver in Prineville until he was drafted into the Army on Dec. 11, 1956.  After his honorable discharge on Dec. 10, 1958, he returned to his former job in Prineville.

His desire to help others was demonstrated in the years he served as a volunteer with Lake County Search and Rescue and the Lakeview Fire Department.  He was also a past member of the Lakeview Eagle’s and Elk’s lodges.

Marvin was one who enjoyed life and his favorite forms of enjoyment were hunting, fishing, hunting arrowheads and bowling.

He is survived by sisters: Dorothy Henrici of Prineville, Lois Ruth Tameno of Maracopa, Ariz. and Marguerite Kuwahara of Vale.

Marvin had requested no service with burial in the Adel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Lakeview Disaster Unit, PO Box 1007, Lakeview 97630 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
