Gerald Fullerton

Gerry Fullerton, 75, died peacefully, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren in Beaverton on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014.

He was born on May 6, 1939 in Decatur County, Iowa.

In  1963 he became the first in his family to earn a college diploma from Iowa State. That same year he accepted a position as a Range Conservationist in Lakeview for the Bureau of Land Management. The BLM took him to Casper, Wyo., in 1974 and eventually to Portland in 1978. During his years at the BLM, he worked on the range. He organized the first catered meals and cooked for the wild land fire fighters in the Lakeview District. One of the highlights of his career was being involved with the Wild Horse Program.

Gerry married Carol Duke on Aug. 28, 1965 and had 49 wonderful years together. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid card player and loved backyard birding. He will always be known as a very special cook. He also enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes and roses.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Carl; and sister Lois.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol; sons Mark (Karen) and David (Crystal); daughter Lori (David) Falk; siblings Harold, Gary, Norma and Doris; and his granddaughters Taylor Falk, Ryan Falk and Raven Harmon.

Services were held in Beaverton on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2014.
