Ralph B. Roberts, 79 passed away on Oct. 7, 2015 at the Royal Villa in Payette, Idaho.
He was born Jan. 2, 1936 in Pocatello, Idaho to parents Ralph and Lenore Roberts. He attended Idaho State University in Pocatello for two years and then continued his education at the University of Idaho in Moscow.
Roberts was a member of ROTC and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. He served 8 years in the Army Reserves. While at the University of Idaho he met and married his wife Kristine on Feb. 2, 1958 and had 57 wonderful years with the love of his life. They had three children – David, Karen and Karla.
Ralph, Kristine and family moved many times during his 35 year career with the United States Forest Service. He retired in 1990 in Lakeview, as the head of the Range, Wildlife, Watershed and Fire Division. They then built their dream home in Payette, Idaho where he lived for 25 happy years. During his time as a Forest Ranger in Council, Idaho on the Payette national forest, they purchased property in the Hornet Creek area where they built a true log cabin, which he felt was one of his greatest achievements. He spent many wonderful times at the cabin, as he loved nothing more than being in the mountains while surrounded by his family.
Ralph was preceded in death in by his son, David; father, Ralph; mother, Lenore; step-mother, Helen and in-laws, Gunnard and Emma Johanson.
He is survived by his wife, Kristine; daughters and sons-in-law; Karen and Paul of Denver, Colo. and Karla and Chris of Klamath Falls; brother, Steve of Pocatello, Idaho; sister, Kathy of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Maxwell, Chandler and wife, Brittany, Emma and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Gunnard.
A private service will be held at a later date.
