Doris Deter (Antonichuk), 87, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 in Salem.
Doris was born Sept. 12, 1926 in Scoby, Mont. and moved with her family to Lakeview as a young girl.
She pumped gas during WWII and married Andrew Milton “Milt” Deter upon his return from serving in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific.
Milt’s career with the Oregon State Police Department took them from Lakeview to Klamath Falls and finally Keizer. Doris went to work for the Oregon Department of Transportation and eventually retired from there.
Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; 11 brothers and sisters; and her granddaughter Kristin Maerz.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Robert R. Moine;brother Joe; grandson Sean Deter; numerous nieces and nephews; and her long-time friend Tom Bays.
Doris will be remembered for her love of family and friends, love of dancing, being a great cook and her feistiness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Keizer Elks Club in Keizer Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
