Gladys Iola Coen, 86, died at the Lake District Long Term Care Facility on Friday, May 16, 2014.
She was born to Charlie and Mary (Finley) Stevenson in Seminole, Okla. on Jan. 23, 1928.
She lived her very early years in Liberty, Okla. before moving to Texas, where she stayed until she was 16 years old and then moved to the San Joaquin Valley in California.
While living in California she met William Coen and they were married on Sept. 2, 1973 in Escelon, Calif.. They settled in Lakeview in 1983.
Gladys really enjoyed her church family, traveling, her beautiful flowers, many friends and especially her family.
In the last four years she had become very much attached to her Long Term Care “family”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 11 siblings and son, William Leroy Perry.
Gladys is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carol Warren of Lakeview and Kenneth and Liz Perry of Tracy, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Richard McCoy of Escelon Calif., Lenora and James Ross of Lakeview and Rosie and George Thomas of Waterford Calif.; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Desert Rose Funeral Chapel with visitation on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Committal will be in the Eagle Point National Cemetery on Friday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m.
