Jacquelyn E. (Jackie) Murphy, 87, died at her Care Center in Lakeview Monday, April 21, 2014.
Jackie was born April 19, 1927 in St. Louis, Mo. to Edward J. and Edythe F. (Jones)Stephens. She was raised in Los Angeles, Calif.
Jackie was married to Bernard Murphy July 26, 1951 in Reno. The couple owned and operated the Raney Homestead Ranch in Summer Lake. Jackie worked the ranch right along side Bernie and also wrote articles for the Lake County Examiner, called North County News.
Jackie was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Paisley for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie; stepdaughter Linda Murphy; and her loving grandson Evan.
Survivors include her stepdaughter Louella Muirhead and her grandson Randy Friermood and many nieces and nephews in California and Oregon.
Graveside services will be held at the Paisley Cemetery on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Francis Akano.
